Heute bedeutet Koffein Kapsel-Kaffee oder "Coffe To Go" im Plastikbecher, auch stylische Kaffeemaschinen sind absolut "kultig". Geschwindigkeit ist das Zeichen der Zeit und dieser "legale Stoff" ist die Nummer eins für einen perfekten, raschen Tages- und Arbeitsablauf. Aber der Konsum hat eine lange Tradition, in vielen Kulturen kennt man die Benutzung schon von alters her und Koffein ist auch Inhaltsstoff von verschiedenen anderen Pflanzen, zum Beispiel schwarzem und grünem Tee. Kaffeehäuser waren Plätze um Konversation zu pflegen und die Teezeit oft eine Zeremonie.
